idea for strongpoint

ok, so gonna try something with the strongpoint but i dont know if make it a whole thing or set each bastion in it's separate piece

just a little update. Not much going on in this front, but my schedule has been stabilizing lately so more time to paint :D

gk painting for tonight

I followed Jose's advice and added a bit of shadows to the gk. Gonna paint the gold tomorrow. Maybe they'll be "finished" soon.

GK small update

Did some work on the Strike Squad, hopefully the entire 750 points will be table top ready soon. I'll keep working on them afterwards but table top ready for most of my minis is my target now. Enough of plastic gray!!

new workspace

So finally I moved and unpacked, I will start posting updates more often now since I'm working on my warhammer adiction again.

here are some photos of what my workspace looks like and some gk I assembled and started preparing for basing.

No longer good

This blog is no longer about the relative good guys. This will be about the mostly evil guys haha. Just some work these past two weeks. Some assembling and little painting. I wanted to play with them pretty bad so decided to get them a little bit table top ready. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

This was done just with airbrush, the lord has made me realize I don't know how to paint golds anymore. Oh well, gotta learn again.

little update

Ok so progress has been slow as of late, those fire warriors even though they don't have much detail are very hard to finish. They can only look good if everything is done perfectly which I can't do.

Also finished the monolith, not pleased with the way the decals dried, I guess it had something to do with me being impatient.


Raidengard is progressing steadily with his Grey Knights, his new cheesyness.

And lastly my new babies :D dark eldar! these guys are just so freaking cool

Decal Set

If I had known of this product, a lot of my planes would have ended up pretty good looking. The part where I had to put decals in my planes/tanks was always the part where it went from looking good to looking pretty bad. I went ahead and bought this little thing and lo and behold, the tau devilfish didn't went from good to crap!

So.. I decided to put some decals on my monolith! maybe I will finish it this week!

Ok this is taking a lot longer than expected. I paint one panel and after painting the next one I realize that all the previous panels shouldn't be painted that way. I get better with each side but I feel I need to redo the rest. So very annoying. Ok so here is a WiP shot of my monolith, or as I lovingly call it "manolito"

Very productive weekend, managed to advance a whole lot on the devilfish and skyray/hammerhead. Gonna go to sleep and leave you with a wip for the devilfish which I intend to finish probably next weekend :D

WiP Tau

Ok seeing as I can't paint today I decided to take pictures of what I have done during the week. I set myself a goal; write a 750 list for tau and necron (not very competitive, very few models) and paint them. I then set myself a date in which these armies would have to be completed. This was done a week ago, decided 3 weeks was enough but I added a week in case something goes wrong. So a month to get ready two 750 point armies :D. This week went by without an inconvenient and managed to paint my set goals. Here is my progress as of today:
These are both tricolor tau camo but I don't know why it looks as though it's only two :(

Still a long way to go but everything seems to be going as planned.

Tau XV-25

Some days it's harder to paint, yet with only 15 or 30 minutes on the details you can get through a mini. This happened last night and tonight where I only painted for 10 minutes adding some stuff that I kept thinking throughout the day. Well I think it's very simple yet I don't know what else to add. Maybe the white markings? I should finish the other 2 instead of thinking this.

fast lens tutorial

Ok, so as promised lens tutorial. This is the easy way and I think I did it too fast. I will have to fix something that doesn't look right, maybe the angle but still the idea is the same. Start with black.

then apply yellow to the lower left or right side doing a maybe 45 or 60 angle. try to keep it neat so that it looks more reflective.
Apply gnarloc green to either the lower or upper side depending on whether you like it to look more yellow or green.
Put a big white dot on top and with the white very diluted draw a line on the opposite side of the dot. Like drawing the lower part of the circle, no need to be neat there. Since this detail is so small it looks very cool looking at it with your own eyes, the photography shows the mistakes but still looks good I think :)

With these awesome scouts. I had a lot of fun painting them... a little frustration with the damn white but I think I learned some lessons this time. I'll probably forget them on the next mini. I'll start with a necron for this saturday's games. I want to give my necrons a shot in 500 pt games.

A look at his eyes, I think they are the best ones I've done so far. Since they are very very small
Also to prove to Hellboy you can do gems with three colors and make them look good or ok or whatever. I just used iyanden darksun, knarlock green and the mandatory black and white. They look better on this model than on the others in which I used more colors. I'm going to re-do their lenses to make them all look like this, also their scopes. Oh also the white in his pants I didn't want to stain too much but here it looks as if I didn't do anything to it, crap maybe I'll read up on the warmachine manual on how to do white again. Lol it didn't take long for me to realize how my lessons with white were in vain :P
