I think my highlighting improved on the face of the space marine at least.
I made a mistake by not being careful with the brush and painted the face with tin bitz. It was promptly fixed :P (in the top picture: face painted with tin bitz >_<; )
I really liked the way the seal ended up but I didn't want to take three pictures (back front side) so a half side half back picture will have to do.

Starting with metal colors and brushing them is a common technique. I'd also recommend hitting the metal with some washes and then lightlight them a bit, to avoid the bling bling a bit. Also drybrush some tin bitz on the flamer where it should have been warm, plus some careful black for soot (wash also works).
