3rd space marine

New space marine!

I painted some details on this one, still no gold trims but I have been reading up on NMM so maybe I'll use that.

I also started up on the sanding of the sergeant and the marine with the missile launcher.

I think the back of this one ended up better cause I used finer lines. They will be fighting this weekend :D

  1. Wow. That is an awesome looking WIP for sure. Very good handiwork, especially with the extreme highlighting. And if you pull off NMN, man, I want to know what kind of background you have with art:) I am already very impressed.

Good thing I can always cop out and say that I paint yellow:)

  2. thank you! wow first comment on my blog ::tear::

well, I don't have a background in art, but I do enjoy painting scale models. Now I'm more encouraged to do the NMM on my models!

next week I'll post my progress on the NMM gold :D

  3. There apparently is something called True Metal Metallics, or something along the lines of that. I think that it is simply the same idea as NMM but using actual metal colors. Sounded really nice but I can't for the life of me find the link :(

Myself I use Tin Bitz + drybrush gold + wash (Gryphonne Sepia or Baal Red depending on if I want red gold or not) + some lighter gold drybrush + maybe some mithril silver at the very edges.

Keep the posts coming, I am curious of what you end up doing and how it will look :) You guys in Guatemala are all good painters judging from the two I follow :)

  5. Well I haven't bought metallic colors yet. I'm going to buy them today but I wanted to give NMM a try before doing what you suggested (tin bitz + dribrush gold etc).

True metal metallics look very cool on the games-workshop website. I guess thats how I want mine to look. I'm going to make one with NMM and one with TMM and post pictures and choose there :P

@hellboy gracias, se ven mejor en foto que en persona :P
