In preparation for this weekend's games, I painted a bit of Eldar. These things take a long time to paint since I always seems to miss one detail and have to keep searching for the squad member that had that grenade unpainted or a gun with an unpainted spot. well here they are:

I thought I had finished painting the grey knights to table top standard but seems I'm missing a strike and a terminator squad. Gonna have to power through them before I go back to painting dark eldar

Restarting the painting process. It's been a while since I painted anything. With two kids now I barely had any time but now my schedule has stabilised. I'm in the process of painting a shit ton of dark eldar. Been having a blast painting all the little details. I was deciding on which paint scheme to paint them and that was a lot of wasted time. Should have just painted them like the box pictures. That's what I'm doing now and what I will do with the future models I buy.

Wave Serpent Wip

Both halves are glued now, no going back :P.

There is still a lot of details on the top hull that are missing but I think this week will be the week when I finally finish my first vehicle :o

 this last picture was taken today, as i was able to sneak in a little paint before going to work :D

Drop pod

It seems all I am able to finish are ultramarines, I don't know why but I get from start to finish in very little time. Hopefully I have not jinxed it and this drop pod stays unfinished like the rest of my armies.

On the painting, I did a white basecoat. I then preshadowed with basecoat black the outside (I should have basecoated the metal parts black.) Then did a very light coat of Necron Abyss. Trying to keep most of the color on the lines and recesses. Then applied an even coat of Mordian Blue. I noticed that the parts I wanted brighter weren't. So I added a bit of white to the mordian blue and airbrushed the middle parts. Looks better in person. I don't know how I am going to do the edge highlights :(

tau

well, today was a productive day. After the green fever subsided; it gave me a new outlook on how to paint. Painting that ork was a lot of fun and was very fast. I decided to give sergeant tau a go and managed to "finish" him in the course of the day. There were many things to do but I found little bits of time here and there. I think there is a little bit more to be done with the face as now I think it looks kind of meh.

The guns perhaps were the things that I enjoy the most from the tau. They are just fantastic.

Also, I managed to squeeze some time to paint one necron warrior! haha for a second I didn't think I could do it.

One tau fire warrior managed to sneak in! 3 models in one day... I'm on a row. I hope this trend continues :)

a certain shade of green

My plans were to paint at least a couple of colors to 4 tau fire warriors tonight. Then a little black unpainted ork crossed my path and I didn't feel too yellow but instead green. After painting a bit of this little ork I remembered that yellow is these guys theme. More yellow!!!

It's a bit late and even though I intended to finish him he will have to wait.



Also I feel out of place with everybody and their waaaagh fever, I wanted to "fit in" :P



Since I didn't know how to paint orks I first downloaded a couple of pdf from games-workshop and tried to mimic their technique only faster and sloppier. :)

more tau

Today is a yellow kind of day. The bottle says "brown" but to my eyes that stuff is yellow. This is the stuff I plan to finish in the near future, it's going a bit slow for the moment but it will pick up this week (I hope).

The weapons on the battlesuits are not final, I just put them there to see how they look (awesome) I think the theme on this army is going to be drones, lots of them. One thing that bothers me though (not that much) is that I haven't seen the bits to make them into shield drones. Haven't been looking too hard though, I'll find them someday, or just scream to the skies with one hand raised "NOOOOOOUUUUUU".

I just love the tau, makes me wonder why I didn't buy these guys first. :P

Update from black Reach

Holy week is over. Lots of beer were drank and pounds gained and no space marines were painted. Sucks cause I wanted to paint all the tactical SM, oh well. Before Holy week I managed to paint a couple and I'm about to finish space marines 8 and 9. Hopefully before sunday's game.

I decided to take a group photo. The camera didn't want to focus on anything so this is the only picture that had any focus at all.

This one I like very much. His helmet looks very cool, I tried to paint it well but I feel like I'm rushing them.

I "finished" the sergeant and added the text on the scrolls as suggested.

I added some text on his knee and a number on his shoulder too.

Also, I left the back skull gold but I added more wash until I was satisfied.
Here is a photo of my photo booth. Very simple... don't laugh :P

I have only started using washes and they are awesome. I want to paint orks so I can use them more often.

4th Space Marine

Ok I hope this week I get 1 Space Marine done each day or two.
I think my highlighting improved on the face of the space marine at least.

I made a mistake by not being careful with the brush and painted the face with tin bitz. It was promptly fixed :P (in the top picture: face painted with tin bitz >_<; )

I really liked the way the seal ended up but I didn't want to take three pictures (back front side) so a half side half back picture will have to do.

3rd space marine

New space marine!

I painted some details on this one, still no gold trims but I have been reading up on NMM so maybe I'll use that.

I also started up on the sanding of the sergeant and the marine with the missile launcher.




I think the back of this one ended up better cause I used finer lines. They will be fighting this weekend :D

First two Space Marines

I think they are coming ok. Still missing the gold paint.

I have to fix the numbering on this one, it looks sloppy.
